DUAL ENROLLMENT FOR THE JUNIOR (3RD) YEAR:

Dual enrollment for ASM Tech students will operate the same as any other student you dual enroll.  You must fill out and sign the appropriate dual enrollment form and send it, along with their college application, to West Shore Community College.  ASM Tech will pay for the application fee.

Please note that all ASM Tech students are required to take CENG 101 College Learning Strategies during either the summer or fall semester of this year.  The section number for the summer semester is CENG 101 51 and will go through July 14.  The section number for the fall is CENG 101 21.  Even though the College Learning Strategies course is the only mandatory course, we would also like to encourage all ASM Tech students to look into dual enrolling in other courses during their junior year as well.

If your student wishes to dual enroll in other classes, we recommend that the classes they choose would fulfill the MACRAO program or the basic requirements for the Associates of Arts or Sciences degrees.  These courses would be considered general education requirements.  If your student has an idea of what college they intend on transferring to after West Shore, you may also use the michigantransfernetwork.org site to see which classes will transfer to that specific college.

If your student is looking at transferring to MSU, you can click here and change the box to West Shore Community College.  This will give you a guide to what classes are currently accepted by MSU.  You can also look at their General Education Requirements to see what they will need in each area.  If you have have further questions in class selection, please contact us.

SCHEDULING AN ADVISING VISIT

We would be more than willing to have our College Success Coordinator visit your campus and hold an advising meeting with you and your ASM Tech students.  During this meeting, we would be able discuss important issues that deal with your specific school district, give your students a more focused guidance session based on their long term educational goals, and help answer any other questions that you or your students might have.  Please contact us if you would like our College Success Coordinator visit your campus.

9TH GRADE PRESENTATIONS

Based on feedback from our last counselor's meeting, we will be starting the application process for next year's class of students much earlier.  One way that you can help us in this is to schedule us to come to your campus and give an ASM Tech presentation to your ninth grade students this spring.  This presentation wouldn't need to last any longer than 20-25 minutes.

Thank you for your partnership and support of ASM Tech Early College!
